Maybe the first coat wasn't dry enough is a good point. Using new rollers that are recommended by Eastwood for their product...and used new roller with each coat. Do you think I have to sand down...
I need some advice on roll-on epoxy primer. When I rolled the first coat it came out fantastic!! After applying the second coat you can see in the photo what happened. Don't mind the color because it...
So the rocker panel is 16ga. Do think that is thick enough for stick welding? The only place I'll be able to use panel adhesive is along the front of the patch piece and along the bottom lip that...
I'm doing a patch on my RH outer rocker panel. I will be stick welding and doing a butt weld. My question is which size rod do I use to get a good clean weld? I'm new to welding so I'll practice on...
I believe it is working out pretty good. Need to do a little grinding on under corners but I'm kinda happy with results...being my first time. :)

Progress is slow but steady. Finally bought some wheel dollies to make it easy to move car. Don't know why I didn't do this a long time ago. Looking at some of the filler used by POs it seems to be...
Thanks to all for great advice!!! I will try a little heat and add a little time to sticking the pin. I also will stick a number of pins and work it slowly. I think I was a little too anxious in my...
I tried the stud welder with the larger pins but they snapped off. Maybe I didn't hold the stud welder on long enough. I'll hold it longer and try again.
Thank you. It is original sheet metal. You can actully see the stamped date codes. I will take you advice and work it out with stud welder.
The passenger side outer rocker panel on my 66 Mustang sustained some damage before I acquired it. Looking at the damage I'm wondering if it would be easier or better to try and pull the dent as best...
It actually contours quite well with the existing panel. Light reflection makes is seemed a little bowed. There is some more massaging that needs to be done but for my first attempt at patching a...
This is where I'm at right now. I think a litle more trimming and I'll be closer to what I want. I will have to work on the bottom corners where they turn in to the under side.

A quick pictorial would be awesome!!!
So I picked up a pneumatic flange tool and it creates a great flange on the straighter edges. Now my dilemma is flanging the corners. Any tricks out there on how I do that. I have seen where the...
Down to metal is what I thought. This car has had at least 5-6 paints jobs over the course of its life and its been a chore getting all the paint off. Been using aircraft stripper, orbital sander,...
I've been searching this forum for roll on primer threads and have found a few. Good info since I'm going to be rolling on my primer. I have a few questions...
1. Has anyone use the Eastwood roll...
Probably...:)
I have the stitch weld magnets from Eastwood that will provide the clamping.
What I just learned from another site, and I will probably use, is the punch and flange tool. Instead of adhering the patch on the inside I'll create a flange area on the main panel, cut the patch to...
Yep...I'll grind inside down to bare metal so panel bond has a good surface to adhere to.
Thanks!
I have a similar situation I'm working on. Not a show car but one that will be in local shows, parades, and weekend driver. I have a couple areas that need patching. Left rear qtr panel and some...
Has anyone had any experience with this product? I'm not setup to spray in my garage and I want to do as much work prior to final paint as I can. This system seems pretty straightforward as long as...
minor restomod - basically car will look pretty much stock but engine, suspension, steering and braking will have upgrades.
Redoing everything inside and out plus engine rebuild. Need to replace two sheet metal areas, front floor pans where they turn to the firewall (common area) but otherwise underside is not in need of...
I am using both stripper and variable speed buffer with 80 grit. One question I have - should I remove the "filler" used to flatten panels (not rust repair areas) or leave it?
Hello
I heard about this forum from my other forum, Vintage Mustang Forum. As you would probably guess I have a Mustang I'm working on. Its a 1966 coupe. Orignally had a 289 3 speed but a PO swapped...
