color sanding spray paint???
i want to paint my tool box, sorta like practice before i paint a part on my car. i dont have the money for a gun so i wanna go to the paint store and get some of the paint that i would use on my car put into a rattle can (has anyone done this?). so basically i want to use the same base/clear coat process, and then color sand it when im done? will this work the same as if i used a gun? how long should i wait for it to dry before color sanding?

Bye the time you get enough base to cover your box,and enoguh clear to build the thickness up to where its even close to be able to sand on it,you could have bought a cheap gun,and a pint/quart of single stage urethane.

hey where in east tn are you, i just left johnson city/kingsport. yeah, i have thought of doing just that, but all i hear is to NOT buy a cheap gun. i dont see a gun, regardless of how cheap it is, being worse than i damn can, but thats the way its made out to be, i guess thats why im here.
