I have them for the Dura-Block guns but I'm not sure they fit the FLG3. I'll try it tomorrow and let you know.Originally Posted by sparky65
That looks like what i remember maybe i just confused Dura-Block with devilbliss. i doubt they would fit as most spray guns probably use different thread. It seems like a handy thing to have i wonder why more companies don't make them for their own guns?
It seems to fit in the Finishline III quite well.
The gun was sputtering and I thought it was the swivel so I took it off and took another picture but the gun still sputtered. I think it's time for a seal.
You can see the difference in the cup angle when using the swivel. The gun needs to be held perpendicular to the panel but the swivel allows you to keep the cup more upright as you spray.
Len,
How does it work for spraying upward? I sometimes need to spray upward and it looks that might just be the ticket (up to about 45 degrees maybe). 3M pps claims to work completely upside down but I have never tried it -- seems rather pricey and cleaning out the cup never seemed like a big deal to me.
Yes, it's about the same amount of angle pushing the cup forward instead of back.Originally Posted by Andy
There are also Cup Liners from DeVilbiss that work very well. These are heavy plastic zip lock bags that are mounted in the gun and allow you to spray upside down. There are also DeKups by DeVilbiss that also allow you to spray at any angle and cost a fraction of the 3M PPS system.
For DeKup parts scroll to bottom of linked page.
Will the swivel work on the Plus Gun?
The zip lock bags are they special type? Where my wife works (medical field) they have all different size zip lock bags I wonder I could use them?
The bags are heavier than your standard Zip Loc-type bag and you want to make sure that they seal when zipped. Also the DeVilbiss cup liners are installed using a grommet that pushes through the plastic bag and into the hole in the bottom of the cup to seal the bag to the cup. Without this grommet it won't work.Originally Posted by dadspackard
Len,
Was thinking of ordering the DeVilbiss cup liners because I did see there are grommets that come with it. Was just curious if other bags could be used. The ones my wife can get are a much heavier mil then the Zip lock brand bags.
What about the swivel will it work on the Plus Gun?
Thanks
I use the Devilbiss bag system on my Iwata and Astro gun.
I love the system.
All I use is the Zip-Lock brand 1 quart freezer bags.
I think they work better, they're not as heavy as the originals
and that allows them to collapse easier.
Sometimes on those heavier bags, you need to open and let some
air in when getting low on paint, otherwise the volume
can slow a little towards the end.
Yes, Zip Lock bags will work and no the cup swivel won't work with the DeVilbiss guns, wrong thread.Originally Posted by dadspackard
Len,
Thanks for your replies.
Hum maybe I can come up with some design for a swivel for the PLus![]()
You may be able to tap some different threads in the DB swivel.Originally Posted by dadspackard
