    Default Paint Prep?

Any advise on how to prep this for painting? Maybe its hard to see but its a textured steel so sanding does'nt seem like a good idea. Its got hinges on it so I don't think sand blasting would be good. I'm not too fond of chemical strippers, is it my last choice? How about some other blasting media?

sand blasting wont hurt that and will leave the texture. I just sand blasted the inside of 2 doors today from a 67 mustang that has textured steel. Chemical stripper would also work. But that is about all your choices. Sanding will flatten out the texture, leaving some paint in the low spots

I would probably use chemical stripper and steel wool then clean it well, prime with epoxy primer then paint while it's still within the recoat window. This will do a good job and no sanding will be required.
