Guide coat

Ok I bought a bunch of differeent colors to see which one I like the best. Can I use them as a guide coat now that I picked the color. They are all the same chromebase.I was going to mix them together and spray a light coat as my guide coat

guide coat isnt paint and wont load up the sand paper. Unless the primer is black, why not use guide coat?

I agree, I use sandable primer bought cheaply at WalMart.
It sands easily off. I think it works as good as the guide coat
I've used too.
I would think the base coat "would work" but as cheap as the primer,
or guide coat is, I don't think it's worth doing because of the sandability.
But it probably "would work"

I use scrap non metalic basecoat as a guide coat when sanding wet...it does not load up the paper much if sprayed lightly...it's better than some spray can lacquer in my book...

If it's scrap, why not use it...

thats what I thought all I am going to do is throw it away if I dont use it.
