    Default PSI at gun

    Hi there,

I'm not quite sure about PSI at the gun. I have a gauge and just painted and it says 30 psi, but is that 30 psi with the trigger pulled, because otherwise the pressure is always really high. I just based and cleared a door, and it turned out really really good but there is more orange peel that I would have liked, does that mean that it was too low of pressure or too high?

    Thanks
    Jamie

PSI when measured at the gun is always done with the trigger pulled so air is flowing through it.

Each product will have a recommendation for gun setting as will the gun manufacturer for given material products.

Some things that might help are

    1) what gun were you using?
    2) what clear were you spraying?

Orange Peel can be the result of too low air pressure.
