Decals and rear defogger grids, removal?

I'm detailing a station wagon that has a rear window defogger. There are several decals on the rear window that need to come off. Normally, a razor blade takes these right off. BUT, the decals cover some of the defogger grid. Any ideas on how to remove the decals without damaging the grid? Besides working verrrrry carefull, of course.

Use a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the glue. Lift a corner with a razor blade and it should peel off easily.
