Zero Rust over weld seams

I'd like to brush some Zero Rust over the ground-down weld seams for protection during the restoration process - will there be any issues with adherence of fiberglass or polyester resins ? I'm assuming I'll scuff first.

My only experience is covering seams with a good epoxy primer before applying filler but Zero Rust should work if it's fully dried and scuffed.
