1966 425 vette im finishing up. Figured id share some quick pics
Last Saturday I finally painted this 1966 vette i've been working on for about two weeks.
It was hit in the front. Cracked the fenders up near the hood etc. Then there was a blister on the rear deck.
I ended up doing the whole car.
Used Dupont Chromabase because thats what the car was restored with. Finished it off with Dupont Chromapremier clear and just about finished polishing it today. All i got left is the hood. Im pretty happy with the result.
Check out the pics. THe pictures do not do this car any justice.

What a great looking Vette! I am getting ready to lay color on a 68. C2 big block vettes are sky rocketing in price, I have been looking on ebay and cars that are apart, missing parts ect are going for 25k. Love the car.

thanks. yeah theyre prices are rediculous.
If this one top flights and gets bloomington gold it would probably be in the 150k-200k range id say.

Nice job...
Love those cars...but they are out of my 'affordable' range now like many others that have gone price wild...

Nice looking car...oh.....Corvette geek coming out.......oh.....damn.......I have to say, wrong hood.
That's a 65 396 hood.
But it is the best hood Corvettes ever had so I would be using it too unless I was after a show car.

Martin,
Actually that is a 66 hood. The 65 396 hood was the same as the 66 427 hood. The thing that distinguishes pane2k's hood, is the holes on the left front for the Corvette emblem, which makes it correct for a 66 427.

LOL, I'm sorry, you are right. It is the 67 that got ugly. Looks like I am no longer a Corvette geek being I sold my midyear twenty years ago.
