Now Phil, when you were that young man what was your relationship with that car? Did you see it in the parking lot, hand the camera to a friend then crouch down and say "take my picture!" or was it deeper than that?

The car is a Fiberfab Avenger kit car. It one of three GT40 knockoff kit cars that I owned (at different times). Thats my son in the drivers seat and his two cousins standing behind the car. One of the similar looking kit cars I had was a Fiberfab Valkyrie which was a tube frame, fiberglass body with hi-po 350 Chevy mid engine. It was running a little over 300 horse in a 1500 lb car. I built the engine myself and I hand fabricated the "snakes" exhaust that went up and back instead of down and back. That avenger in the picture was a fun car to drive, it had a built VW driveline, it was quick enough because there was very little weight and it cornered like a go cart.

I had another kit car called a Sterling that was a great car, I drove it for close to two years just about every day to work (not in winter months) and used it for general transporation. I'll post a picture of that Sterling shortly.

    Default That would be

a 58" Muskie. I caught it in Lake of the Woods. I had a guide that knew where the fish were. We had been casting an area, when up popped this fish at my feet! It had tried to swallow a 4.5lb bass, and it was lodged in its throat. I grabbed the fish and it cut me to the point I thought about stitches. The guide and I got the bass unstuck and then put the muskie back into the water and got water going across her gills and she swam away. That night at dinner in the lodge everyone wanted to know my technique! If it hadn't been for the guide, I doubt anyone would have every believed that fish story!
