    Wow....fast and wild was well said. made all the difference. I think I have great results so far. One more BC ...flashing and them some right now. DOn't expect a reply in time for the next coat but...a drop coat is further away I understand. Some dryer/rougher coat is not good though, right? If I do the drop on wet, that is better, right?

    Right! Not dry and rough but even and not wet.

    I think it came out good. ever so slightly rough but not really dusty. Good like this? Maybe a tack/sticky rag?

    Thanks for all the "emergency" help. Finished it up few hours ago. Came out good. No orange peal. Some runs, dust...nothing too bad. Fortunately, I got pretty good at color sanding last time I painted. That time, it was orange peel mostly, from using a cheap gun. If you're not good at painting, it helps to be good at sanding/buffing. This time it should be easy and quick.

    You got that right ! If you have enough clear on it, you can make it like glass.

    Yes, some extra clear for just that reason. 3 coats

    Your base and clear look good to me. Good job !

    So what was your technique for your basecoat this time around ?

    "fast and wild" based on Henry and Bob's and others suggestions. That's the best way I can word it...fast and wild. It worked well for me
