Default Cleaning new gun before use

I bought a couple Astro guns a while back, and they came full of some anticorrosive green stuff. Is it going to take some mega cleaning before I can use it, or just a disassembly and go through it with thinner?

    Thanks

Gee I've had several Astro guns here and never had any green stuff to worry about. I'd say if lacquer thinner will break it down quickly you could probably just spray and rinse it with thinner, use it THEN tear it down and clean it well. However, to be sure you get it all you may want to rinse it a couple times.

Sounds good. Interesting that yours dont have green stuff. I bought them from spraygunworld I think it was. I doubt they put the green stuff in the guns though, because the guns are all packaged up from the factory.

EDIT: Duh, I dont know why the heck I thought it was green. Maybe because the threaded collar for the tip is green LOL. Its actually a clear, greasy type of substance. At any rate, its SOMETHING LOL. I'll use the above prescribed cleaning method.
