Default Your Opinions on this damage to my Audi TTS please

    Hi,

During the recent cold snap in the UK, the roads were very icy. I thought my TTS with 4 wheel drive would not have a problem and so I took a left down my street, but my car carried on an straight trajectory, sliding into a pole on the other side of the road! Apparently ABS and 4 Wheel drive does not count for peanuts when sliding in a almost lateral direction. Anyway - damage done, can I get suggestions on how to repair? Fibre glass kit? I was wondering if there was a foam product that could be used to fill the hollow void and then I could smooth and sand into shape?

The last photo is from underneath the front spoiler - so as you can see the crack is all the way through the spoiler

Is that lower piece removable or is it part of the black bumper?

Pretty sure its part of the bumper, but I would not want to replace it as it would be expensive.

Nope I was wrong and right!
It is removable and it is expensive!

If we were not going to replace that piece we would remove it, apply a reinforcing mesh to the back of the damage then fill the missing area using bumper adhesive. The process is LINKED HERE

WELCOME ABOARD and sorry for your mishap. ICE cannot be trusted!

This part is very expensive, mainly, because it is Carbon Fiber. I would remove the piece and perform the repair such as Len has shown. I would WAIT another few weeks for the cold, snow and ice of winter to go away. You might also try a scrap yard, junk yard. I checked here to see if anyone offered an aftermarket 'plastic one' with no luck.

I did look up on American ebay and found the following: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Carbon-Fibe...5Y6E1U&vxp=mtr

Now that's expensive too but they do show some re manufactured for under $500 US money. Yes, I would repair the one you have 10 times if need be. It is a beautiful car, by the way. Good luck and keep us posted on what you do.

It took me a while to find this but I think I've found the correct part for your car. That break doesn't really look like carbon fiber...it tends to crack more like fiberglass. That looks more like a plastic. So, check this ebay auction out:

I think the price is much more reasonable. I'm sure you can take the part number and find one lots closer to your market.
