Default 64 Coupe satin silver metallic

I recently painted my coupe BC/CC, two days later I'm wet sanding and I find several black specks in the paint on the front end, they're small but I decide to sand them out and respray the front clip. I'm going to break the color on the sail panels. My question is where I spray over the existing clear coat which was going to wet sand with 1000 grit, which will make the finish hazy looking, when I spray the clear will it come back to the bright metallic finish ?

Yes it should look good as long as you extend the over-reduced clear beyond the color coat. Be sure to STRAIN the paint before you spray it or you could risk more specks in the finish.

Any time you have any doubts just wet it with water. That will tell you what it will look like with clear coat.

Thanks for your input, I wasn't sure if it would come out looking like it did when I originally sprayed it or if I had to respray the whole car, my experience is very limited, but I will work at it until it's right.
