    Default skim coat question

    Hopefully doing a last skim coat with this product

    i usually let it cure an hour or so before sanding, but how long so you wait before spraying surfacer?-- Thanks

    You should be able to apply your primer/surfacer right after sanding. I normally leave a 180 or 220 scratch in the filler prior to priming and a 400 or 600 scratch in the primer prior to painting.

    Thanks, but why the difference in grit between filler and primer?

    Don't understand your question.

    I think what Len said was he applies primer to filler sanded with 180 OR 220.

    I sand filler with 80 for shape and level then 180 to remove scratches then 220 to remove a little more and prime the 220.
