    Default block sanding primer

so i have the filler work done and only have the glaze on the hood left to do

that leaves my next step in this paint job, high fill primer and block sanding

my question is about block sanding the primer

i have a couple blocks like this one
but i am not sure it that is the best type for block sanding
should i keep using the stiff board with the thin foam on the bottom or should i get some dura-blocks like these

i have never used a dura-block, are they fairly solf and flexable?

    thanks guys

    Hi Jon
We swear by the Dura-Blocks, they are a stiff foam that is a little flexible. We use them to get the surfaces perfect or close to it.

Here's a link to another thread where they were discussed and some pictures are shown.

ok thank you so much Len, i cant believe that i sanded the glaze coat on almost the whole car with those other blocks, i finished the hood today with the dura-blocks and wow, i didnt think they would make a difference but i was very wrong, i never had to go back and fill a small low spot i sanded into an area without noticing

i realize i am a novice but these blocks made a world of difference

i hope someone else wondering about what blocks to get will search here and read this before sanding the whole car...

and Len amazing shipping all the way across the country in 2 days for like $10, excellent work

i took the entire car down to bare metal, then metal work, filler and glaze followed by the high fill
many guys here recomend epoxy or etching primer somewhere in there...
