Default Sharpe Cobalt: 1.8 or 2.3?

    Hello,
I have bought/won a Sharpe Cobalt spray gun equiped with a 1.4 tip [from E Bay] which I want to use as a primer gun to shoot 2K as well as Polyester Slick Sand primer surfacer.
I just need to change the fluid tip and needle to a larger size.

    Which size should I get, a 1.8 or a 2.3?

I am leaning towards the 2.3 because I especially want the polyester primer surfacer to spray well. It's harder to sand than the 2K primer, and the orange peel can take some sanding to knock down when it's coarse.

If I get the 2.3, do you think the 2K will spray well also?
    Thanks.
BTW Len, do you sell Sharpe parts? tip #28123, needle#26009

I'm inclined to think 2.3mm might be a little big for primers but works well for sprayable fillers.

Most primers will go on with anything from 1.4 to 1.8mm.

Check Sharpe's website and look at the gun setup reccommendations per paint manufacturer. P-Sheets for intended products will also give you a good idea.

Good score, I've been looking at maybe getting a Colblat off of Ebay (as they seem to be listed almost all the time NIB). Not sure where I want to go with two new guns (primer and clear) yet.
