    Default Frenching headlights.

Does anyone know where there is a HOW-TO that will explain step by step on how to french headlights? I am wanting to french the headlights on a 1954 Ford Victoria. Or does anyone in here have pics of how to do it?

    Thanks,
    Ben

I've never done it,but remember seeing a bunch of magazine articles.
Try searching Street Rodder magazine online,or Rod and Custom.

My main question is how to make it where the lights will insert from the back. I have read where you reverse the screw and make them come in through the back. I also saw them do it on Monster Garage one time but they didn't go into detail. I guess I will have to try a little trial & error...

Unless you just want to do it the hard way, check around the street rodder sites. I seem to recall seeing some frenching kits for headlights and tail lights somewhere but don't remember where. One place to look would be www.mooneyes.com

Hagan has a kit for frenching, but I personally don't like the look of it. I haven't done it yet either, but have read a number of articles in street rod type mags. You have to mount the headlight bucket from behind so you can change bulbs if necessary. This may involve some trimming of the perimiter to physically get it in place. I'm not sure if this allows any adjustment of the aim of the bulb or not. Your Ford has a great looking headlight door which is then welded to the fender & then metal finished. Good luck, post pics of your project. Larry.

I bet Martin Senour can tell you how to do it. He had a great write up about Frenching antennas.
