Default Jeep Cherokee fender flare attachment ?

On my 1998 Cherokee, the right front flare/wheel molding came off the fender. I managed to get it before it was completely gone. How do I reattach it to the "spring clip" arrangement on the fender? I tried holding the clips away from the fender w/ trim sticks, etc, but could not get the thing back into place. Any comments, suggestions, or useful ideas would be most wlecome.

I think you have to reach behind the fender and remove the nuts holding the retainers in place. You'll see that each retainer has 2-3 of what looks like 'brads'. That's actually the base of a stud holding the retainer in. remove the retainers. Put them back through the moulding, then bolt it back on. It has a couple of plastic rivets up front that always break out...and it seems like a screw on the rear...it's been too long. I also don't remember if you must remove the plastic aprons to do all of this...you probably do.

    Good Luck
