    Default MP 170 Application question

    Hello,
I primed my stripped 71 cutlass with MP 170 and then with 2k high build primer. Unfortunately it was very hot the day I coated the car with the 2k and I could only get one coat of the 2k. I proceeded to block sand the 2k with 400 dry paper and in many spots I sanded thru to the MP170 layer since there was only one coat of 2k.
Should I recoat the entire car with MP170 to be safe and then shoot 2-3 good coats of the 2k HB primer over that or is it safe to coat over the MP170 with the 2k. The car is all block sanded but I still need the 2k to really make the car straight as an arrow.

Unless you have some decent size areas of bare metal showing you probably don't need the direct-to-metal primer and you can just apply more of the filler primer on top of the sanded primer.
