Default Bottom side of Lincoln Navigator rust can I slow it down?

My parents 2000 navigator is pretty rusty underneath. Can I slow this down? What I'm thinking is to spray the under side with something like picklex 20 then spray something like zero rust down there as much as I can? Basically I'll just put it up on jack stands and spray stuff down there as much as I can. I keep telling them the vehicles on the way out, but we could hopefully slow it down so they can get a few more decent years from the vehicle.

    Thoughts?

Yes, that will work but you need to remove loose rust first by wire brushing or blasting spray or brush on the Picklex 20 and work it in with a scuff pad then wipe it off and let it dry. I usually like to scuff the dry Picklex with sandpaper or a scuff pad before applying Zero Rust. When we are trying to protect a large area from rusting we apply two coats of Zero Rust, our first coat is gray and our second is black. By doing this we can see what has been coated twice.

What do you do about the wiring and stuff? Just work in the picklex as good as you can around all the stuff? I'm assuming it's not aggressive enough to hurt the wiring. Using two colors of zero rust is an excellent idea.

Thanks for the help. I love this site.

In the years that I've been using Picklex I've only damaged two things, it discolored some aluminum trip and discolored vinyl trim. I doubt that it will do anything to the wiring other than make spots on the insulation.
