Default Please help locate a white sedan with possible damage to front right corner

Hi! This may be a little different from the usual requests for help in this forum, but I'd like to ask all collision repair specialists who may be in the Los Angeles area or nearby areas to keep an eye out for a white sedan involved in a hit and run accident which critically injured a very nice and humble pedestrian. A blurry picture is all we have to go off of, along with the description from this article (which also contains the phone numbers where you can report the vehicle if you find it):

    http://santamonica.patch.com/article...in-hit-and-run

The car was described as a late 1990's to early 2000 sedan, white, with a sunroof and tinted rear windows. It may have damage to the front right corner.

My friend Roger, who was hit and critically injured, is a writer who spread much joy through many childhoods through the cartoons he wrote and produced.

If any of the car experts here have opinions on what kind of car might be in the picture, that might be helpful, too.

Thank you so much, and if there is a better forum in which to post this request, please let me know.

    Thanks!--

Moderators -- This looks like stealth spam to me. In the provided URL are two pictures, one an impossibly blurred image of a car and the other spam advertising for their website.

    Hi, James!

No, this is not stealth spam. The link should take you to a site that is the local news for Santa Monica, the Santa Monica Patch. The car image is blurry because from what I understand it was taken from either a traffic cam or a local business's security camera, and the car was moving.

The other photo I think you are referring to is not an advertisement. It is a picture of one of the comics written by the writer who was run down in the hit and run accident. I doubt if it's even still in print, so this post is not meant to advertise it. Roger Slifer not only wrote cartoons, but he also wrote comics, and as the headline of the news article says, he was a co-creator of a famous character called Lobo. You can find a 2009 article on Daily Variety's Web site that even talks about Guy Ritchie being attached to a film based on that character. It's natural that the news would want to include either a picture of Roger or something representing his vast body of work.

Thanks for being careful, but this is an honest and heart-felt plea for help searching for the car that hit my friend. If someone takes that car in to any collision specialist who reads this, please report it.

    Thanks!--

I believe you're right. I jumped the gun on that one a little. The photo in the URL was apparently a cover page to one of the comic books the hit and run victim created. It showcased in part his talent and creativity and what he did/does on a professional level. Sorry to hear about your buddy. I just can't believe someone would do a hit an run leaving the victim to die in the street. It takes all kinds I guess. The driver was probably drunk or already driving on a revoked drivers license and didn't want to go to jail. If they catch the guy/girl their drivers license should be permanently revoked for the rest of their life AFTER they get out after a couple decade stay in prison.

    Thanks so much, James.

Based on the time that it happened (late on a Friday night), it's pretty likely the driver was drinking.

If anyone has a better idea about how to reach auto body repair shops in our specific area (Los Angeles), other than contacting them individually, that would be great.

    Thanks again!--

) here are to many back yard bodyshops..try a reward on Craigslist with pictures of your friend then and now maybe the driver may see it and turn themselves in...

    Default Thanks

Analysts picking apart the photographic evidence believe that it could be a white 2002 Subaru Impreza 5, a Saab 9-2x, or a similar car.

There is actually a $1,000 reward. Someone in our group is checking into increasing that.

Here is the police report: http://santamonicapd.org/Content.aspx?id=32726

    Thanks again!

    Default KIA Spectra

Looks alot like a Spectra to me.Take a real close look at how the Back door glass on both look about the same,in referance to the back glass .The door glass is just offset from the rear Back glass.

After a second hard look maybe not .The Back edge of the Door glass seems like a Sharper angle.
