Default finex 3000 spray gun spits

I have a finex 3000 hvlp spray gun.I have put about every new part in it except the needle and air cap kit.It used to work good now it has sputtering spray and orange peel.I have adjust air pressure at gun from 30-60 lbs and the fan adj small and large.I hate to buy new air cap kit if it is not going to fix it.I have read they are not a very good gun. Give me some suggestions beforI throw it away. thanks proge

Since I don’t know the gun I will just say the problem is often caused by a missing or damaged tip seal or that the cup vent hole may be plugged. There may be other things that I am not aware of.

Bob is right, you have air leaking into to paint stream. It's usually the seal behind the fluid tip or the seal between the cup and the gun. Sometimes the gun itself can be cracked around the fluid tip.

    Default leaking around air cap

I put some thinner in gun sprayed some soap around air cap to gun leaks everywhere.Tighten it up the same. There is a non replaceable rubber oring in there might require air cap kit to fix. Think I might be right? Let me know? thanks proge

The air cap doesn't usually cause the gun to sputter, it can cause an irregular spray pattern but sputtering almost always comes from air getting into the paint stream before the paint hits the fluid tip. The picture below shows the Finex 3000 which has no seal at the fluid tip or the cup but you could be leaking at the needle bushing #3-1 or you may have a problem with #12-2

My bet is 12-2. This design sucks. That's why I like STAR's cheap guns (Astro Pneumatic) they don't use these seals.
