    Default HELLO ALL FROM AUSTRALIA

Gday everyone from Melbourne, Australia. I have always used posts from your site for some really valuable information in the past but decided that i needed to register so i could become a part of your fantastic forum. I currently work in the automotive smash repair industry as a spray painter and have been doing so for the last 15 years. We currently use standox paints, but i am in need of some opinions for a mid to high end topcoat spray gun. I will be using it mainly for clear and pearls and was looking at compliant models. Currently tossing up between the devilbiss cvi, sharpe t1-cg with 1.2 setup, and maybe the sagola 3300 pro with evo cap. Have seen some really positive posts on the sharpe t1-cg can anyone give me some first hand info on this unit, is it lightweight and comfortable in hand? Thanks and look forward to hearing some feedback.

Like most tools the better the spray gun the more it costs. I haven't had much luck with the CVi the pattern is smaller than my other guns but it does atomize well. In my opinion the best DeVilbiss guns are the GFG-670G Plus gun and any model of the Tekna guns. I never had much luck with Sharpe guns but I've never used the T1-CG so I can't comment on it. I just used the Sagola 3300 for primer and it worked quite well but for top coats I use the 4400 and 4500 Extreme and they both work great. The Teknas and the Sagolas are probably two of the best spray guns on the market.

    Question

Yeah thanks Len I actually have previously owned two plus guns but didn't like the fan pattern, a little too narrow. I failed to mention that I currently own the sagola 4400 digital with 1.3 setup which I've had for about two years but never got comfortable using found the trigger a little stiff and now use it just for some base and sealer. Also had the TEKNA with 7e7 aircap but found that it didn't like spraying the Standox clear we use. So I am a little confused as to which way I should go?

Never been a fan of the SATAJET 3000 find it too bulky in the hand, much prefered the older 2000 model. Can anyone give me some personal experience using the sagola 3300 pro with clear and base? Also the sharpe t1-cg looks interesting anyone still use this gun

Sounds like you need a good air supply or just a good old fashioned spray out to adjust the guns correctly. I have used almost every gun you described with exception of the t-1 with very good results from all.

Seeing your in Australia I know lots of guys have had great luck with the GTI PRO (not the same as a gti) it sprays very similar to a tekna so Ive been told. You can also try a sata rp 4000,it is less bulky than a 3000.

Yeah our air supply at work isn't the best I notice the air fluctuates when spraying big old dinosaur of a compressor but the boss won't update it. So probably need something that isn't an air hog. The sata 4000 is out of my price limit, so I'm still a little unsure ?

I'm with Jayson, the GTI Pro would make a good choice. They are available in abundance and priced well. There is a T110 aircap that you should be able to get there that isn't here in the states that is supposed to be for HS clears that gets good reviews.

    BTW welcome!

Unless the compressor is quite small a variation in air pressure at the gun is probably more likely to be the absence of a good air regulator than problems with the compressor.

Has anyone had any experience using the sagola 3300 for base and clear are they any good? And also the sharpe T1-CG anyone use one of these?

    Try a Sata RP 4000 B
1.3 Set up but you better be ready to MOVE!! Fantastic gun and fast.

It's been nicknamed the "hose" in my shop.

I found the opposite with the 1.3 4000rp,kinda slow but much better with a 1.4.The 3000 and first gen rp's are much faster than a 4000,still a nice gun though.
