    Thanks for your good post I only wish I had seen it before I redid mine in 2011-12. I didn't take the cylinders apart since they were crimped. I only put new "O" rings on the shaft.
    If anyone has an idea on the electric motor portion of what to do since the motor cuts out about 7 times when raising the top. I'm thinking the thermal overload gets hot and cuts out. Any suggestions?

    I don't know, and I have to say I learned something more about the pump when it started leaking after "rebuilt" it. I bought a new seal kit instead of cheaping out like I did when I wrote this "Basics". I have it out in the garage and haven't installed it, maybe tonight.

    I got the seal kit from http://www.hydroe.com/ and it was only $15.
