What's your normal process for painting raw flexible parts? Clean, maroon pad, clean, adhesion promoter, flex additive?, basecoat then clearcoat?

If it's going on soon. I scuff with lt gray and scuff stuff. Rinse well and let dry well. Clean with alcohol and clean towel. Light tack rag maybe. Apply adhesion promoter 2 light coats with 2-5 minute flash. After second coat of adhesion promoter goes on within 2-3 minutes I'm basing. 15-30 clearing. This is a debatable thread but it has never failed me yet. If it's going on next week I might put some AP in my base. Then I would use my Transtar clear with built in flex. http://www.levineautoparts.com/transtar7021.html
After applying the adhesion promoter you should probably let it dry and apply it again. Read the directions on the AP.
The flex additive is mixed in some products and not in others. The flex is usually mixed with the "hardened" materials so any primer that takes a hardener and any color or clear that takes a hardener will usually get flexed. Paint with flex can take a lot longer to flash and harden so the wait time between coats is usually a lot longer.
