Default What am I going to need?

I'm doing my first paint job on a 69 mustang coupe. Im going with single stage, chop top silver from eastwood (acrylic urethane). One gallon comes with the activator. I plan on doing door jams, trunk jam and hood jam, along with the entire car. What else am I going to need to get the complete job done, and how much of it? Is one gallon of paint enough?

If the paint covers decently then the gallon should do it. A decent spray gun either HVLP or compliant would also help. If you use a detail gun on the jambs it will help stretch your materials. It usually pays to use a sealer that will be easy for the paint to cover IE. gray under silver works well.

I would have more than a gallon on hand. I've only painted a couple cars but because of my inexperience I tend to use more paint in painting panels separately, putting a extra coat on to have plenty for cut and buffing, and just because I'm not as good at estimating how much paint to mix up for a particular panel or couple of panels as the experienced guys. I went through most of six quarts of SS Dupont doing my Cobra which is pretty small. But I had to paint the underside of the hood, trunk and inside of doors. It's not fun running short of paint when your trying to finish up.
