PPS and DeKups Adaptor question

A little unclear on the adaptor sizing for DeKups Vs. PPS if there really is a difference.

Here's my question: Let's say your spay gun needs an adaptor that measures say, 14 mm female x 1.0 mm thread pitch and let's say both companies make this particular size.

Now to use say, DeKups for your gun do you need the DeVilbiss adaptor specifically or can you use the same sized PPS adaptor for the DeKups system and visa/versa as long as either one is 14mm X 1.0 mm ?

If not is the attachment end different that attaches the DeKups system up to your gun and the same goes for the PPS attachment so each adaptor even though measures the same the actual end attachment is different?

The end that attaches the DeKup is different than the PPS adapter end. You can't put a DeKup on a PPS adapter.
