Which is more effective, solvent based or waterborne, thanks, rick

I have used PPG DX330 solvent cleaner over Envirobase with no problems and I have used SX1005 Waterbased Cleaner over Envirobase and had problems.

On the waterbased cleaner you want to fine mist it on. where as the solvent cleaner you can get away with using more. both work just they have to be used differently

Water based grease removers are more sympathetic to skin, that is, they're more likely to be absorbed, so the warning labels are important.

There are two different glue removers on the shelf at my local hardware store, the water based remover warns you to wear gloves, wash and rinse your hand thoroughly if there's any contact at all, contact poison control for a spill on your skin, etc. In short - Holy Shit this stuff is dangerous. The solvent based, on delimonene (sp?), says, If this stuff dries your skin, use hand lotion.

Waterborne wax & grease removers are recommended for
plastics. they don't have mineral spirits or other solvents
that are bad to use on plastics.
Some bumper repaint specs, like Toyota's point that out.
