Default Considering Panel Adhesive instead of mig welding. Good idea? Cost effective?

I have a wheel arch and rocker that need replacement. I was planning to mig weld them in a spot weld at a time. But I remembered something I'd read about a while ago.... Panel Adhesive.

Would I be better off trying this instead?

ALSO... the wheel wells are rusted where they meet the wheel arch. How do I replace these? Didn't seem like Sherman has them.

    thanks!

Jury is out on that one. I have seen repairs made with patch panel adhesive. The flex of todays steel "CHEAP" steel bodies causes the work to sometimes crack. I've seen it twice over a pickup's wheel well. Do it at your own risk.

In most cases you would want the seam to be hidden by a molding or install the entire panel because the expansion and contraction of the metal can cause a "read through line" meaning that the repair would show. A good bonding adhesive works quite well but it's usually used to fasten entire panels and not for patching. Fusor is the only adhesive that I've seen that says it has "bond line control" but I don't have any experience with it for patching.

The do make something called Lord Fusor for patch panelling. I have no experience with it, although I've seen panels with patch adhesive that eventually shows a line or an edge where it showed through.

Yep, it's Fusor Panel Bonding Adhesive and it works great but on dark colors I think you could see a line where you have a seam. This is why you would want your seams to be hidden under moldings.

i have used panel bonding adhesive, ProForm Brand, fast drying time, for several rust "patch" metal jobs and customers have not come back yet to complain...i used this because i did not want to weld , it was not wort it.....so i am assuming its still holding strong...but like said, do it at your own risk ......
