    Default 1968 Camaro

this should turn out nice. All custom engine work, custom suspension, custom interior, and I'm just doing the grunt work...welding, patches, quarter, bodywork prime, blocking. It came to us with the suspension done and the engine was already tossed in for mock up. From the looks of the plastic shift console they left in there looks like they're already started on the custom interior as well. For the amount of money this guy's spending he should have invested in a better body. This body is trashed but I've almost gotten all the rust out...almost.

This rear suspension is NO JOKE!

after we took off the quarters I found a little rust.

10 patches just on this window channel... my mentor tells me when it's almost done...

"you know, they might make window channel patches for that." Geez, thanks for waiting to tell me.

I love open butt welds that ride right up the to edge. Makes it easier.

all done!!! finally. These are a hassle to cut out.

these little guys are a hassle cause the edge on the top that I'm trying to keep tends to move around. In the end it will be undetectable from both sides and look good. These were no fun.

    Thanks!

I think it's about 15-20k for just the suspension. Not sure on the engine but after looking at the suspension I know the engine is gonna be something nice. The interior will be full custom and probably really nice too.

Looking good! Fwiw, that's a Heidts Superide rear suspension. $8k complete and ready to bolt in.

crazy. When I said 15-20k I meant front and rear.

Good job! The rear window channel is a bad spot for corrosion; water always stands there. I've seen ppl cut channels in the outer seams to promote drainage into the trunk channel, I've also seen a guy who put a drain hole with a rubber hose for the water to drip out.
My position is; if you take off fast enough, the water runs out on its own.
I was going to run away and join the circus, but then I realized that would be redundant.

7 days of metalwork, fiberglass, and mud. Handled this all myself.

can't even tell there was a repair there and the moulding fit very well. Happy about how this turned out.

    The quarter came out nice.

This is where it was lapped on. It came out nice and isn't detectable but the top edge needs to be addressed
a little better and the other quarter installed has a sharper line. In the race to get this in primer for auto rama I glassed it and skimmed it but didn't pay too much attention to it but it's minor tweaking. No biggie.

This one came out pretty decent being there was literally no metalwork to it. Two others started and I finessed and cleaned it up a bit, but it's gonna need another round of primer.
