ANYONE EVER HAD A PROBLEM REMOVING ARMORALL TYPE PRODUCTS??

I STARTED TAPING IT UP AFTER WASHING IT AND NOTHING WOULD STICK CLEANED IT WITH THINNER SPRAY GUN CLEANER PREP ALL ETC STILL HAD A PROBLEM WITH TAPE STICKING AND HAD SILVER PAINT ON THE BLACK GRILLS..

HERES SOME PICS,

CAR WAS MINOR DAMAGE ON FIBER GLASS AND CARBON FIBER PARTS,





NOT A BIG DEAL THE THING THAT TOOK THE LONGEST WAS MESSING WITH THESE GRILLS,



SO AFTER LETTING SILVER DRY AND RETAPING I PAINTED THE GRILLS BLACK NOW..

OVR ALL THEY LOOK OK NOW BUT WHAT A BOTHER TO DEAL WITH..



THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER WAY THEN THIS CRAP..

Believe it or not Dawn diswashing soap works better on this type of contamination than solvents do. Also, try some Simple Green or Super Clean. I run into this issue all the time when refinishing furniture. The waterbased cleaners just seem more effective at removing these silicon contaminations.

Thinner is not a good product to remove these types of contaminates, I agree with Dennis, wash the bumper with Dawn and warm water scrubbing it then rinsing it well. After I dry the bumper I would use a good grease and wax remover (solvent based) by spraying it on and absorbing it off with a paper towel, this allows contaminates to float in the solvent then they are sucked up by the towel. If I think I have may have a difficult problem I may spray the solvent and remove it several times to make sure I get it all. You can use an inexpensive pump sprayer or the sprayer that I use linked below. I go through a lot of paper towels when I clean a surface prior to painting. This is NOT a tool that you load with lacquer thinner, you use grease and wax remover with this sprayer.

i tried also a product called red hot or hot shot we get it in a gallon and mix it with water 50//50 or whatever it turns the aluminum on the motors dark grey and strips the paint off wheels spray tires and they turn brown but rinse them and they look like new..i even tried that stuff too....

Use products that are designed for the job you're doing not what you THINK should do the job.
