Hi, Im looking for a little help before I paint. I have done some repairs like filling small dings with body filler and welded in a new cab corner. While doing these I obviously got into the bare metal and while sanding and feathering in the body filler the bare metal area grew a little around the edges. Anyway I did not epoxy primer these areas, I primed them with chroma 2k 7704s surfacer. This has all been blocked out and wet sanded and is now ready for paint. I have been told that the primer i used will peel from the bare metal because I did not use epoxy or etch first.
Do i need to sand these areas back to metal and use epoxy or etch? We are not talking about large areas maybe four or five inch areas of bare metal that had been roughed with 80grt.
