    Default Painting Corvette bumper cover

Hello, a freind of mine wants me to spray a rear bumper cover for a 81 vette for him. I have done overalls on both my chevelles and my 68 vette, but I believe this cover is a sort of flexable plastic. Would this take a different prep, flexable agent maybe??? Thanks for any tips, Steve

    Default I use flex.

When painting flexible plastic bumpers I scuff the old paint the same as I would scuff any other surface before painting then I spray it with paint that has a flex additive added. If you're replacing the bumper with new parts and the plastic has no coating on it you should use an adhesion promoter on the bare plastic prior to applying your paint or primer.

Read the technical information supplied by your paint manufacturer for the products you plan on using and be sure to use materials that are engineered to work together. Using materials manufacturered by different companies can cause the paint to fail much more quickly.
