I am going to be painting a very high metal flake blue paint and I have three guns.
Sharp platinum with a 1.3 and a 1.5 tip. SATA RP digital. and a a Iwata PLH LV 1.3 I normaly use the sharp for all pase coats and the iwata for clear. the paint is does not have big flakes just a lot of it.

Homer, the gun of choice for this particular job would the be the Sata RP (not because I'm that crazy about Sata's, which I'm not). Here is my thought process that leads choosing the RP over the Platinum or Iwata LPH-LV -- The Platinum is a decent HVLP gun that puts out relatively low volume and its a really slow gun, not a good choice for high metallics on an overall paint job.
The Sata RP is a "compliant gun which puts out a lot more volume and is a much faster gun.
The Iwata LPH-LV is Low Volume/Low Pressure spray gun that is a great gun for everyday usage but not the best choice in this particular case. All three of the guns would get the job done but the RP will get it done (in this case) faster and easier with less problems than the other two guns.

Keep in mind that your question is subjective and any answers will simply be individual opinion base on that persons past experiences.

    Default sata rp

30-35 psi with 1.3 tip. I usually base a little lower than my clear. Using Sherwin Williams and Matrix clears.
