    Default Gravity VS. Siphon

Other than physical characteristics, What is the difference between Siphon feed and Gravity feed?

I read many posts as to how primer can be shot with a siphon feed, I have to assume it has something to do with the atomization and quality of the finished product.

    Thanks,

In a syphon gun the paint needs to be pulled up from the cup using the air that is exiting the tip of the gun. The gravity gun has the paint already at the tip and the air is used more for atomizing the paint. This makes the syphon gun less efficient than the gravity gun. Other negative factors of syphon are that they are more difficult to clean and can leak air into the paint stream more easily causing sputtering as you spray. All my old syphon guns now sit and collect dust.

    understoond, thanks.

You could always send me one of those 'dusty' guns so I will have a primer gun

Another good reason for using a gravity gun for priming or painting is that you get to use the material to the last drop.

Siphon guns always leave a bit on the bottom of the cup that can't get sucked up......

At the expense of todays products..you hate to waste anything.

    Just my opinion,
