    Default Removing OLD Tape

I`m working on a 55` Chevy that is just getting one of its 2-colors re-done.
The finish that is remaining has had tape on it for 5-months!!!:0
The owner taped it off last fall and left it tilll I sprayed it.
The door jambs were`nt sanded at all and the tape has pulled off the primary color
So when I attempt to untape the rest of the exterior I`ve got a problem.
I was thinking lighter fluid or WD-40 to basically soak off the tape then cleanup the residue?
    Other ideas?

I recently had the same issue. It was on flat spot of the car so was easy to get to. I used wax and grease remover and a scuff pad. Clean the residue right up. I would be afraid to use WD40 if you plan to pain this area in the future. But I am not an expert!
