Well a few years ago my father wasnt paying attention(had a lot on his mind) and ended up slapping the side of his boat on a brick wall so i was wondering how should i go about fixing it? I have never messed with boats like this so any advice would be great!!! Here some pics, i know they suck but couldnt get a great one.

If there is no structural damage I would grind the damaged area to lower the surface then use a strong fiberglass paste to level it then prime and paint. If you have a gel coat finish then skip the paint and apply gel coat.

Looking at it there is no damage except for the scratch that i can see. When you mean gel coat are you talking about the layer over the fiberglass? If so than im sure it has a gel coat. How hard is it to apply and make look good?
    Thanks Len

    Default gel repair

the darkness in the holes looks like your on the outer most layer of the glass lay-up.If you have anymore of these ,or it happens in the future, mix up a small batch of marine epoxy, apply to the damaged areas.Fill to just below the surface, let it cure for one week.Wash off area that was epoxied with straight warm water, this will remove the amine blush that comes from the epoxy when it goes thru the cure process.Rough-up repair area with 80 grit.apply very thin layer of adtech #14 filler.Sand filler to 120.Get a ,quart of sandable gel coat , it will come with a tube of mekp hardner.Mix a batch of your gelcoat 70%gel, to 30% duratec gloss additive, activate with mekp, spray this mixture on with a simple PREVAL sprayer.Cover new sprayed gel with plastic or wax paper and tape the edges well.Gel coat tints are available if you need to match color perfectly.Sand with 180 ,320, 600,out to 800 all wet.Buff out.Adtech #14 will buffer between epoxy and polyester products. rob.
