Got some crystal bay stick on paper(6 inch) 1 (100 sheets)pack of 80, 180, 320. One pack of 3m wet/dry 400 and one of 600, looks like 50 sheets each. and red scotch brite box.

Total was 208 bucks....did I get a deal from my painter friend or ripped off?

    thanks

Have you been ripped-off? A distinct maybe, Crystal Bay is 3M's lowest quality product. The purple 314U is their highest and the 255L golf film has been an industry standard for 30 years. Is the wet-or-dry backing ugly green or gold in color? The gold is the good stuff (Imperial) and the ugly green old technology.

Here's a suggestion for you. NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM A FRIEND. It's absolutely the fastest way to lose a friend forever.

I've found with the crystal bay you spend as much time changing paper as you do sanding!
I like Mirka abrasives personally, costs less than 3M,seems to last as long.I use 3M exclusivly at work, boss's choice.

The three rolls of Crystal bay should have been around $70 (retail price). I can get 100 sheets each of 400 and 600 grit for $40. The 3M red scotchbrite pads should be around 50 cents a sheet.
