Thread: TCPglobal?

    Default TCPglobal?

Okay... don't hammer me too hard Has anyone used this cheap G6600 gun offered by TCPglobal?

    http://www.tcpglobal.com/spraygundep...o=TCP+G6600-25

At $39.95, it's one of the cheapest guns out there and I don't expect a high quality job. I just want to spray some high-build polyester primer with the 2.5mm tip and then I'll be sanding most of the primer off. My compressor is 33 gallon model that puts out 8.6 cfm @ 40 psi and 6.4 cfm @ 90 psi., so I think it will work okay with this gun.

If no one has anything decent to say about the TCPglobal gun... what about some of the other cheapie models out there? Vaper and Titan both have guns with a 2.3mm tip that should also work for me and they're in the same price range as the TCPglobal. Thanks...

That looks like a Titan gun. I have the same problems with most cheap (under $90) guns being used for primer. In order to clean primer from the gun you need to take off the air cap, needle and fluid tip because the primer won't rinse out cleanly without scrubbing it. With inexpensive guns, when I put them back together, they seem to sputter after one or two uses because they don't seal properly and they start sucking in air into the paint stream. If you're only going to use it a couple times you may not have the problem or maybe I've just had bad luck with them. I find that the DeVilbiss Finishline 3 is one of the best primer guns I've owned but it's around three times the price of the Titan. The Finishline can also do a decent job of applying your top coat. If you decide to go with the Titan I might be able to get it a couple dollars cheaper but I have to research it.

    Thanks for the info, Len.
Can I get a 2.5mm tip for the DeVilbiss Finishline 3 ? I want to spray Evercoat Slick Sand and have been told that "bigger is better" for the tip size.

I've been spraying Slick Sand using the 2.2. That's the biggest tip available. You can use the 1.8 to apply your epoxy primer prior to applying the Slick Sand.

Do you have any opinions on the Asturo spray guns?

Some of the Astro guns are decent guns for the price but parts can be difficult to find should you ever need them.
