Hammer/Dolly Methods

Ok so I finaly found a hammer/dolly set localy today. Can someone share with me how I should go about using these tools on an oil can to begin bringing it up to level?

On dolly/Off dolly

With an oil can the hammer goes under the dent and dolly on top right? I should hit off dolly on the center of the "low" spot to bring it up. I just want to make sure that I understand the basics.

The only way to fix an 'oil can' is with shrinking. Use the search feature for posts on that topic.

I must have missed the link in the other post. It got very crowded

I used the article to fix a dent in my hood and it worked very well. The rear deck scares me a little though. Im not sure where to start.

Shrinking is NOT the only way to fix an "oil can" effect. It could simply have a "brow" or other point that is holding the effected area from falling into proper place.

Go to the Classroom here at autobodystore and to the "Basics of Basics" and Flat panel repair, it is explained there.
