Default 1969 Charger....thanks for all the help!!!!!!!

I know I don't post here alot, but wanted to share a few pics of my '69 Charger. I have read this site religiously during the process of doing my body work. I'd like to thank Len and all the others who gave good advice and suggestions to my questions. All my hard work paid off a couple of days ago, I finally painted my car. I built a temporary booth in my garage and sprayed it. It turned out pretty good, I got a couple of runs I need to sand/buff out, a few dust nibs here and there, and some light orange peel on my hood and decklid (sides come out very slick). I should be able to sand/buff everything. I am thrilled with my body work, the panels are nice and flat, and all the body lines are sharp and straight as an arrow.

Here are a few pics. I will post some more when I get it outside in the daylight and take some more pics.

Wow that looks great. I hope you bought some new parts because old parts will stand out on that new looking car.

Thanks for the comments. I've had this car for ten years. I stripped it down and took it to a 'friend' (or so I thought at the time) to have the bodywork done, then painted. He kept it two years and all he did was strip the paint off the roof and quarters, and welding in half a trunk floor. He let it sit outside for the last few months he had it. Heres what it looked like when I got it back (these pics where taken in early 2005).

    Default Wow!!!!

I love that color it's going to look sweet all put back together. Keep updated on the pics.
Nice job on the temp booth as well. Makes you feel good about your accomplishment.

So, what brand paint/clear did you go with? Gun/tip size?

Thanks. After thinking about it and reading comments, since it was a solid color, I decided to paint it with single stage urethane. I used an Astro EVO with a 1.4 tip. Now this has been a learning experience, and one thing I would definately do different is, I would use a top line paint. I used Omni MTK, and that stuff is thin as water. I had to put 3 coats on before I was happy with it, next time I'll just spend the extra to use PPG.

I did the same thing, used some OMNI bc/cc and wasn't impressed with the OMNI base coat. I wasn't using it for anything special so it worked out fine for my project, but next time I will go with a better quality. I asked about it before I used it and it was everything people said it was....not the best. When I get some spare time I'll try and post some pics of my project.

BTW, that is one of my favorite cars.

    Wow very nice job there.

    Is that Sub-Lime green?

My friend has a 70 Challenger 340 6 Pac in that color.

    Awesome work you did there

    Thanks.
It actually a little darker (or greener) Sub-lime was code FJ5, this is FJ6, Dodge called it 'go-green', plymouth called it 'sassy grass'.
