    Default Shooting Paint Tomorrow!

Just a few quick questions. I tried searching and couldnt come up with the answers from previous threads.

I have a new bumper and rear bumper as well. they have "primer" supposedly but it just looks like plastic to me. Would i be able to use adhesion promoter and go straight to paint sealer then basecoat or would i have to prime it/block it down and then apply sealer, bc/cc.

Last question is do tyou guys pass the tac rag between coats? I was thinking of letting the coats dry to the touch passing the tac rag and then doing another coat for both base and clear....is this just normal operation? I know flash time is like 10-15 i believe on standox and not too sure if it dries to the touch by then. thanks! hopefully can finish and post pics tomorrow!

Whether you prime and block really depends on what the surface looks like. With bumper covers you're not going to worry about waves, but the surface still needs to be smooth. If the surface is nice and smooth I would wash it thoroughly, sand it with 400, apply adhesion promotor, a coat of thinned epoxy (an epoxy labeled as appropriate for use as a sealer reduced as directed) as a sealer, shoot my base and clear.

I don't tack between coats of base. I will sometimes tack my base very lightly before going on to my clear tho. I don't tack between coats of clear either.
