Thread: Advice with masking up some stripes

  1. Advice with masking up some stripes

I am having my tank and fenders painted for my Motorcycle and want to mask up some stripes to run down the centre of the tank and both fenders, a 30mm stripe with a gap of 10mm then a 10mm stripe.

I just wondered if anyone has some advice or is there a technique for getting the masking nice and straight on the curved surfaces?,

    Thanks, Stu

  2. The only advice is BE PATIENT... IDEALLY you could lay them all in line Each straight to the other and go from there...but the time you take in this step will go WAYYYYYYY far into the final outcome of the job... Geoff

If the fender edge is the same distance from the center of the fender arch you could use a compass to mark the line from each side of the fender to give you some guidance.
