    How would you reapir this?

This is not the picture of the actual car. This is a picture of another G-body. I need to repair a 87 Monte Carlo SS. There are rust holes very large (About 2-3 inches in diameter) in the circled area shown. I have access to a mig. How would you go about this repair. I will try later to get photos of the actual car.

Without seeing a picture of the actual damage I can only guess but I'd expect that you would need to cut out the rusted metal, weld a patch over the hole then drive it down and fill over it.

if the actual dammage is worse, that involves structural integrity issues, Id maybe look for a donor hinge pillar, but like len said, need to see the actual dammage. Otherwise you might as well ask, "how do you fix rust on a hinge pillar"?

kind of unusual rustouts on the pillar. And the other side isnt like that? The quarter is a straight up patch waiting for someone to get after it. Probably some slight outer wheel house rust too. Looks like I would just weld up some patches on the pillar too. Just strange how it rusted. Id check the bottom of the pillar too, after you get the door off

Thank you for the help. By the way it is a T-Top car with leaking seals.
