    Rust Doctor

Anyone familiar with, or have any experience using, the product Rust Doctor. Someone was telling me about it. Sounds like it is a rust converter and paint all in one. Only needs to be top coated if exposed to UV. Any thoughts?

You are right in converts the rust to a black iron oxide and leaves a primer on the surface. The primer accepts all kinds of paints, body filler and fiberglass. The treated surface can be welded. Rust Doctor is water based and can be sprayed or brushed with water clean-up on your equipment. You should top coat if the treated surface is going to be exposed to water for long periods of time. Use a water based degreaser/cleaner to prep the surface.
