Default Metal work done, now what???

I have installed new cab corners & have them welded in & need to do some filler work around the welded area for blend in. I have fiberglass resign jelly & some Dyna hair, which would be best & when/what do I use for primers??
I have in the past used Napa's econo line of primers. With there products I was told to do filler work, then Etch primer then on to urethane primer.
Other products say don't use the etch but use epoxy then filler.
I like the Econo line's prices on there products, anybody have any problems with them?
    What order do I use??
    Thanks

The question you are asking will get you many different responese.

Is this just a every day driver ? show job? what expectations do you have?

if you use the Dyna hair just make sure its mixed 100% with hardner.

1994 Dodge 3500 4x4 thats a daily driver & plow truck. I want to do a nice job, but it's been a few years since I done any body work. I have in the past done 5 complete repaints. Could it be that the Econo line of paints from NAPA you should to filler work, then ecth to the bare metal & urethane over it all.
I am looking to do the rust repair & then on to the pealing paint & finishing up with a complete repaint of the truck. I am hoping that the urethane primer will stop any rust from starting until I can paint the whole truck. Any ideas on that??

    Thank You!!

There are more than one way to do it.Here is what I do.First off, over the welds..i apply a thin coat of short strand fiberglass paste, then filler..THEN if any bare metal is showing,I use spray bomb metal etch, followed by 2k primer.(I double prime,etch,2k,sand,2k,sand,paint.)You could use epoxy then 2k and skip any etch but you get alot of build up on your edges that way.
