Default 65 Mustang--I guess this is the right forum

    LOL
I suppose anyone who is restoring a 41yr old car could post about it in the rust forum right? My car has light surface rust and whatever is under the paint. I am having this car taken down to the bare metal (DA/sandblasting) then built back up from there. I have three major questions: What is the best thing to use to seal the body so that any rust left behind (we'll get everything visible) will be neutralized and won't bubble the paint in a few months/years? What is the best brand of paint to use over whatever sealant you recommend--DuPont, PPG, etc? I plan on using a basecoat/clearcoat system and either painting the car black or silver. What is the difference btw an etching primer and an epoxy primer?

once you get the body clean i would use picklex20 on the body, let it dry then follow up with an epoxy primer. If its kept indoors, you can picklex, then do your body work then epoxy or epoxy first, then your body work(personal preference),then followed by polyester or 2k urethane primer.I use Matrix, but used PPG for 15 years.
