Default Empty clear coat and reducer cans

What do most body shops do with empty reducer, thinner, and clear coat cans?? I thought maybe I could load them up in the back of a pick up and take them to a metal yard. But they might not want them since they have solvent residue in them.. Most of the paint cans I use the paint and just throw away but this big 5 gallon lacquer thinner pals would look funny sticking out of the trash can.

I cut the bottom 2 or 3 inches off the 5 gal. cans and use it as an evaporation pan for my trash paint. When it get's a inch of hard paint on the bottom I trash it.
