    Default spraying epoxy primer

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but when I spray PPG dp90lf I get more of a slight pebbly finish , I'm using a Devilbiss plus gun with the 1.4 tip.
My concern is that I am at the point where i want to use it as a sealer.
I have also tried to reduce it with similar result?

Is it new,do you have 402 or 401 hardener. I use it often and it sprays smooth as silk. Air psi. tell us more about your enviornment.

    Default epoxy

I'm using 402 , the primer is about 10 months old, Its being sprayed in an area aroud 55-65* . The psi is set in the range of the gauge included with the plus gun ( 30 -40psi ) I've got a good compressor.

From the sounds of it it's going on too dry. The droplets of paint are not flowing into each other after/as they hit the surface. There are numerous reasons for that to happpen. Gun too far from the surface, moving too fast, material knob turned in too far, tip too small, insufficient overlap of your spray pattern...

A 1.4 tip is somewhat small for shooting primer, but if you slow down you can get enough on there for it to flow out. I use the "cigar" method for adjusting the fluid knob. A quick full pull of the trigger should produce a nice cigar shaped pattern with the ends filled in nicely. Overlap your passes by 50%. Practise on some scrap. Slow down and watch the paint on the surface. Slow to the point that it runs so you have an idea of how slow you can safely go. It's practise you need.
